The First Glimpse – journey from first news to the first glimpse
The First Glimpse of the new born, kind of make you forget the last nine month journey. You tend to forget the pain of stretch marks, back pain, itchiness, and what not.
The journey began something like this:
The feeling of motherhood was at peak, so decided to go for it.
When the news came, was not sure what could be reaction for it.
After few tro & fro motions, heart full of happiness and nervousness, was pumping at little more than normal speed
Life gave a chance to enter into motherhood, so we jumped and grabbed,
As months passed, every night was passing by with creation of new image of baby and was not sure how actually baby would look like,
It was a complete mystery, whether nose would be similar to me, or eyes would be like his father, a complete mysterious package growing inside,
Sometimes, first glimpse give me goosebumps, thinking of looks and other times wondering what if something goes wrong,
But, solving that mystery every night with spouse was another fun filling moments, which keeps you more closer,
Finally, last month, when this mystery was about to be resolved any moment, we were desperately waiting for the D day.
And after being in 14 hours long labor, there comes the first cry of baby, heart full of joy and eyes filled with joyful tears, I welcomed the new one.
When baby touched me, it gave me feeling of being mother now.
Motherhood overcame the feeling of losing freedom, as if it was worth the wait of 9 months.
I would say:
“Realization of being a mother came by that first touch,
Motherly care came by that first glimpse,
Feeling of being complete women came by first latch,
Feeling of being a strong one to deliver this miracle came by the first smile.”
Everyone says, ” Difficult time will come after nine months, when you need to raise your child.” That’s where i found the ‘Bumpiness in life which comes after the bump’.
Bumpiness will not be realized in the first glimpse, I would say, first touch, first smile, first cry, and the ultimate first eye-to-eye contact is worth that bump.
I would love to hear your story of the First Glimpse of baby and also to find out more new moms who are exactly in my shoes.

Very well expressed.
